Up to My Nose in Nudes
Paying homage to my amazing friend, Marlee, and hosting another Take Home a Nude at my Museum on Thursday. Before Marlee lost her lease on Tressler for the old studio, she implemented the Life Draw program we still have every Wednesday since The Studio came to the Elliott. These loyal artists were kind enough to donate back a lot of their artwork which we will sell to raise funds for Studio programs. Marlee also packed up a shitload of vintage nudes from the Tressler site, from an old THaN event she had there. It ended up in storage when the Elliott was razed and brought back after the first THaN event we had there in 2013 at the newly-rebuilt Museum. I just opened it this week to get stuff ready for our event Thursday. I stopped unwrapping at about 100 and I didn't even put a dent in the pile! We'll have more T&A (&P!) than you can shake a stick at! It was wonderful to see lots of work from some artists who are no longer with us. Charles Laskey was a very prolific and talented local artist, and discovering a couple dozen of his works from Life Draw was a treat! There were even three of mine in there from 2003! Many of the artists from back in the day will be represented along side our wonderful current group. Should be a fun event! $10 at the door, free munchies and cash bar, and very reasonably priced original artwork will be featured. You can even try your hand at drawing one of our volunteer models (clothed, of course...), including Julia Kelly and Sarah Scheffer. Should be a hoot! Thursday, February 16th, 2017, 5:30 - 7:30 at the Elliott Museum, 825 NE Ocean Blvd., Stuart, FL. RSVP to 772-225-1961 or RSVP@elliottmuseum.org. Be there or be bare!
